A47 Blofield Closures April and May 2026

Upcoming road closures in April and May 2026

As we near the full opening of the new A47 dual carriageway, we’ll be undertaking various works
including switching traffic onto new roads, installing traffic signs, and undertaking bridge works.
This means a number of overnight closures need to take place, as detailed below. Please be
aware, work on this scheme will continue to summer 2026 as we complete the side roads.

• Monday 20 April to Thursday 23 April, overnight closures from 8pm to 6am each night.
A47 between Blofield and North Burlingham will be fully closed in both eastbound and
westbound directions. The A47 will reopen at 6am Friday 24 April.
• Thursday 23 April, overnight closure from 8pm to 6am.
The B1140 South Walsham Road to North Burlingham Link Road will be closed.
• Monday 27 April to Friday 1 May, overnight closures from 8pm to 6am each night. A47
between Blofield and North Burlingham will be fully closed in both eastbound and westbound
directions, plus the B1140 South Walsham Road to North Burlingham Link Road will be
closed. The A47 will reopen at 6am Saturday 2 May 2026.
• Tuesday 5 May, overnight closure from 8pm to 6am.

• Wednesday 6 May, overnight closure from 8pm to 6am contingency only.
